Passion intrigues me. Honesty intrigues me.  My new paintings, drawings and text revolve around the notion that life, often beautiful, often painful, is always special.  Describing this truth, that our lives are so special, is my creative intention.  With the omission of frequently used elements from earlier paintings, my new work is more minimalistic, yet a strong figurative focus continues.  Because my paintings are not premeditated, my efforts; the accidents, the struggles, and the occasional confident gestures, are layers of emotional experiences that eventually become a complete, yet abstracted narrative.  Fueled by passion and honesty these new paintings are loving portraits of humanity.
